WooCommerce PayPal Pro Credit Card Payments
PayPal Payments Pro gives you everything you need to securely accept credit cards and debit cards on your website.
It offers a secure payment experience with complete customization ability over your customers’ checkout process; and an Internet merchant account from PayPal.
Therefore, Payments Pro is ideal for businesses that want complete control over the checkout experience.
Our plugin makes it work with WooCommerce and customers can pay by credit card without ever leaving your website.
NOTE: – Fully supports both “Website Payments Pro” and “PayFlow Pro”.
PayPal Payments Advanced
Payments Advanced is a cheaper alternative to Payments Pro which ties PayPal and credit card payments into an i-frame on your website’s checkout page.
As such, this eliminates the need to worry about PCI compliance and is roughly half the price of PayPal Payments Pro.
NOTE: Payments Advanced is no longer being approved for new merchants. However, if you already have it active on your account our plugin will still support it.
WooCommerce PayPal Gateway REST Credit Card Payments
PayPal’s new REST API adds the ability to process credit cards on the site without the need for PayPal Payments Pro.
This means no more monthly fees for processing credit cards directly! This is essentially the exact same thing that Stripe offers with their credit card processing features.
- A REST-full API that gets you taking payments very quickly with no monthly fees.
NOTE: Direct REST CC has been replaced by PayPal Advanced CC in the new Complete Payments gateway. This “Classic REST” option is no longer being approved for merchants. However, if you already have it active on your account our plugin will still support it.

Total Processing Fees When Using PayPal + Angell EYE
Accept Card Payments
Our credit and debit card processing rates make it simple and affordable for your business to accept payments online when compared to competitors like Stripe, Square, and the rest!
Credit and Debit Card Payments Transaction Fee
2.69% + 49¢ per transaction
Includes the following payment methods:
Accept PayPal Payments
Increase conversion rates and average order total by letting your customers use the PayPal payment options they prefer - PayPal Checkout, Pay Later, Venmo, and more! Seller Protection on eligible transactions can help your business avoid chargebacks, reversals and fees.
PayPal Branded Payments Transaction Fee
3.59% + 49¢ per transaction
Includes the following payment methods:
IMPORTANT NOTE
The fees displayed are the result of the PayPal US rate + the Angelleye commission of only 0.1%.
At Angell EYE, we believe in honesty, fairness, and transparency, especially when it comes to our pricing. We understand that the nuances of payment processing fees can be confusing, so let us break it down for you.
When you use our plugin to process payments, you'll continue paying whatever rate you've negotiated with PayPal, whether that's for PayPal Wallet transactions or for credit card processing.
What we do add is a small commission of 0.1% per transaction. This is our fee for the added value and capabilities our plugins provide.
To make this more clear, if your rate with PayPal is 3.49% for wallet transactions or 2.59% for credit card transactions, then with our plugin, you would pay an all-inclusive rate of 3.59% or 2.69% respectively.
However, it's important to note that your rates with PayPal may vary based on your own agreements. So, the key takeaway here is this: you will always pay your established PayPal rate plus our flat 0.1% commission.
This approach keeps your fees typically lower than with our competitors, and more importantly, keeps pricing simple and transparent.
The Angell EYE Advantage
We at AngellEYE are PayPal specialists. We have developed a very close relationship with PayPal over the past 20+ years.
- Ace Certified PayPal Developer
- PayPal Partner
- PayPal Ambassador
- 3-time PayPal Star Developer Award Winner
Rest assured that when you’re working with AngellEYE PayPal plugins your payments will work as expected.
In addition, everything between WooCommerce orders and PayPal’s transaction details will be seamless.
Therefore, you will not find yourself confused when looking at orders in one place or the other because the same data is available in each location.
Quality Control and Seamless PayPal Integration
Our developers have built and tested this plugin thoroughly in the PayPal sandbox.
Firstly, we have ensured that all necessary data passes to PayPal with clean and accurate details. In additional, we verify that all data passes to correct fields that PayPal provides.
Therefore, all order details will show up in PayPal as expected, and all data about orders will match. This is true whether you’re looking at PayPal transaction details or WooCommerce order details.
The following outline describes just a few things that we found wrong with other plugins that we’ve done correctly with ours.
Error Handling
- Many (in fact, all) of the other PayPal extensions I’ve seen have some serious issues regarding error handling.
- One example is with Payments Pro, where you can have Fraud Filters configured in your PayPal account.
- Orders could raise a flag and trigger a filter, however, the payment still completes successfully and the buyer should see the order complete page.
- In many cases, these end up getting treated as failures, the buyer is shown an error, and could potentially end up processing multiple payments if they continue re-trying.
- This sort of crucial error handling problem will not happen with our plugin!
Cart Items
- All cart item details pass fully to PayPal and show up correctly in PayPal’s transaction details.
- All items will always pass.
- You will not find truncated item names in the PayPal transaction details.
- The WooCommerce SKU is correctly passed to PayPal as the Item Number.
- Item Attributes
- We’ve seen all sorts of crazy ways people try to handle item attributes (ie. color, size, etc.)
- All attributes will append to the item name with our plugin so that they can be easily seen in the PayPal tranaction details.
- You will not find item attributes being passed in random fields like other plugins.
Cart Totals
- With our plugin, all cart totals calculate accurately and are sent correctly over to PayPal.
- You will not find any “rounding issue” items popping up on your orders when using our plugins like you do with “official” plugins.
- Subtotal, shipping, handling, taxes, and grand total amounts calculate and pass to PayPal accurately and in their correct parameters.
Discount Codes
- We’ve ensured that all discount codes applied to an order are correctly passed over to PayPal.
- This allows you to see each individual code that a customer uses, its amount, and its actual code value.
Shipping
- If shipping is available on the WooCommerce cart page, this will be passed to PayPal for review during checkout.
- If the address changes during review, the shipping and tax will be re-calculated.
- The PayPal request includes the shipping address, so that it will show up in the PayPal transaction details page accurately.
URL Encoding
- All data passed to PayPal is correctly URL encoded and formatted per specified standards.
- You will not have problems where you see a bunch of special characters included with your transaction data.

Seems to work, but documentation outdated and unclear
Drew (store manager) –
Hi, I appreciate the feedback. Yes, the docs are a bit outdated as of right now. We’re just about to release another big update to the plugin that makes our Multi-Account add-on work with PPCP, and we’ll be getting all of our docs updated accordingly.
Verified Buyer (verified owner) –
This plug-in was easy to install with the install and setup guides. I was wondering how the Multi Account Manager plugin works with it though. In woocommerce settings, do I use the default PayPal commerce complete payments or do I need to disable that and then enable PayPal express checkout?
Drew (store manager) –
Hi,
I’m sorry for the confusion with that. Yes, if you’re going to be using the Multi-Account plugin you need to use the PayPal Classic Express Checkout gateway for now. We’re almost done with PayPal Commerce compatibility in the multi-account plugin, but not quite there yet. You’ll get notified when it’s available and time to upgrade, which will come with lots of new features and functionality.
If you have more questions please submit a ticket to https://angelleye.com/support/ and we’ll get you taken care of. Thanks!
Drew

The plugin is really great. Apart from normal/basic Credit Card Payement. It often fails here in Germany, without any informations inside the log.
Drew (store manager) –
Hi Frank,
We’re glad you’re happy with the plugin over all. I’d be happy to help you figure out what’s going on with your failed payments if you want to submit a ticket to our help desk. We don’t have any other reports of problems, so there must be something unique going on, but I’m sure we can get to the bottom of it if you’re still having issues. Just let us know, thanks!

Thanks for the review! If you can let us know what we could do to earn a 5 star we’d appreciate the feedback. 🙂

Migrate WordPress e-Commerce website to WPEngine and PayPal IPN stopped working. Had to get host revert PHP to version 7.4 to resolve the issue. Your plugin does not support PHP 8.0 and higher. Once plugin issue fixed it has been running fine.
Drew (store manager) –
I’m glad it’s working well for you now. It can be difficult to keep up with all the different plugins we have and all the different updates that are necessary, but I hope it’s recognized that as soon as you reported it we were able to get an update released that resolves it for you. 🙂 Thanks!

Fine, it works

Hello!. I am quite happy wityh this plugin. It works great. The only thing that I don’t quite like about it is that, if some one purchase a product via the button in the product page, the system only takes the email and name of the buyer from paypal, but not the billing details like address.
Also, the express checkout button does not show when selecting the option to be shown below the checkout payment options.
Thanks so much!
Drew (store manager) –
Hi, thanks for the feedback. If somebody pays from the product/cart page then they will select their address from their PayPal account and that address will be returned to WooCommerce. PayPal only shares a “shipping address”, though. As such, there’s an option in our settings to use the same address for Billing as well, so that both addresses are filled in on the Woo order. Make sure that’s enabled and you should get what you’re wanting.
We don’t have any other reports of problems with the buttons showing up on the checkout page, but if you want to submit a ticket to our help desk we can help you with whatever you’ve got going on.
Anonymous (verified owner) –
I was able to connect the plugin with no problems, but I need a plugin that connects credit cards and Paypal giving my customers the choice.
Drew (store manager) –
The plugin does allow you to include both PayPal and Credit Cards. I’m not sure what you’re seeing that makes you think otherwise..?? Did you enable the “Complete Payments” gateway that our plugin adds? This should give you the entire stack of PayPal, Pay Later, Venmo, Credit Card, etc.
Anonymous (verified owner) –
Does the job but noticed I now need to purchase a seperate plugin to easily access my PayPal to add shipping confirmation information.
Drew (store manager) –
Yes, sorry for any confusion there. Our free plugin provides the ability to process payments, but add-on features like shipment tracking are done through paid extensions. This way the free plugin doesn’t get bloated with stuff many don’t need, and people only have to license the specific features they need above and beyond payment processing. Hope that makes sense!
kartik iyer (verified owner) –
in payPal Complete Payments, can you provide me guide to put card payments on top and PayPal button below?
Drew (store manager) –
Unfortunately, they don’t seem to be providing that sort of an option. Those buttons and the CC form are hosted by PayPal and they aren’t providing a way (as of now) to switch that order in their API or JS SDK. You could continue using the Classic gateways if that’s really something that important to you. I would suggest you give Complete Payments a try, though, and see if it really affects your conversion rates for the worse or maybe even for the better.

amazing

My only comment is that I would like to see you send more product updates and know what the site URL is with each new mention of a product or when my account updates with new product downloads, or even when it doesn’t. It is extremely hard to keep track of WooCommerce products and extensions and where I purchased them from.
Drew (store manager) –
Thanks for the feedback. Just make sure you have our Updater plugin installed, and you’ll receive updates to our plugins just like any other. There’s a notice in your admin panel to install that if you haven’t already. You can also use your Plugins page as a resource, as it lists the company/dev name of each of the plugins you’re running. Hopefully that helps!

The best plugin i have found. I tried several other plugins to work with woocommerce subscription but everyone fails when it comes to provide the credit/debit card option for woocommerce subscription, but this plugin saves me.
Except one thing that the venmo option currently not visible on checkout page i dont know its bug or something else with configuration but overall experience is great
Drew (store manager) –
Glad you like the plugin overall! The Venmo option is only available on mobile devices, and it may not be available for subscriptions. I haven’t tested that specifically. I’ll look into it. Thanks for the feedback!

We’ve been using this plugin for a while. Just found what appears to be a bug where some transactions are being redirected to the the sandbox site, even though sandbox is disabled. How can I get in contact with the developer?
Drew (store manager) –
Hi Jodi,
Sorry, had some site comments that I wasn’t seeing notices about. Didn’t mean to leave you hanging. For future reference, the best place for support is our help desk at https://www.angelleye.com/support

Great, but switching off CC logos does not work. Had to make a gif and upload.
Drew Angell (store manager) –
We have not had any other reports of problems with the CC logos. You chose to hide credit cards in the “Hide Funding Method(s)” option? If they’re still showing up after that then it must be a caching issue. Always good to clear cache after making changes to plugin/theme settings. If you want to submit a ticket to our help desk we can help you figure it out.

Awesome
lucio7 –
I loved this plugin and the big yellow button.
But in all the speed tests I was running it kept showing up on non-shop pages.
It was a rather large file, so I had to de-install it.
EDIT: I changed the rating as I did not run deep enough speed tests that I could pinpoint exactly what was the culprit.
My website is much quicker now, but I changed so much that it’s impossible to say which was which.
oxley2016 –
The team handles the requests and open tickets in a “fast and serious” manner!

Hi,
I installed the plugin in order to use “PayPal plus”. I actived it and I inserted the Rest APIs. I expected that on the check out page of my shop the four payment options offered by PayPal plus would appear but nothing happened. There still is only the regular PayPal payment option. What did I do wrong? How do I make it work?
thanks so much for any support!!!

chayam –
Don’t know if it’s good or not but not using because no time to sit and figure it out. They didn’t let me take off my review and I don’t want to say something bad so I just gave a four.
Alebo –
The plugin works well and the support is very fast
Larry –
Hello Andrew!
I would like to suggest that PayPal Standard be added to this plug-in. We are not yet using PayPal Website Payments Pro since we are still in the early days of launch, and that would make this the absolute perfect plug-in. Express Checkout seems to give us some issues, so for right now we are using the built-in PayPal Standard in WooCommerce. Are there any plans to integrate Standard Payments?
Thanks!
Larry
Andrew Angell (store manager) –
The experience for users with Standard and Express is very similar, but Express provides a lot more features. If you want to let me know exactly what problems you are having with it I can certainly help.
ahgerling –
Since I installed your plugin, sales increased – plus 27 %. The possibilty to place a paybutton on each products site is an advantage to a known commercial, expensive wc-extension. The only downside is an error, which occurs unfrequently: DoExpressCheckoutPayment API call failed – Error Code: 10410. According to your supportthread, you’re working on it (but it seems to be timeconsuming).
I just donated a couple of Dollars just to encourage you to develop this plugin further.
